The Academy Awards may be the main event but—let’s be honest—we tune in just as much (Dare we say: maybe even more!) for the Oscars fashion as we do the winning of actual golden statues. Study up on all of the Oscars 2016 red carpet dresses: From Alicia Vikander’s pale yellow Louis Vuitton to Saoirse Ronan’s emerald green sequined Calvin Klein Collection, but don’t stop there! Lucky for us, the fashion keeps going. From the biggest viewing events of the evening to after parties that last until the wee hours of the morning, Hollywood brought their fashion A game to each and every fête.

The trend beyond the red carpet was decidedly understated in tone: while sparkle and shine reigned supreme, few strayed far from simple and sleek silhouettes (though many boasted sexy cutouts and plunging necklines). Bright color made an appearance on some chic starlets, but—in true black-tie fashion—most opted for deep black and bright white hues. Scroll through all of the best looks that you may have missed, right here.

Jessica Alba stuns in a bright white Roberto Cavalli gown, belted at the waist.

Taylor Swift looked flawless in an Alexandre Vathier dress that boasted not only a naval-grazing neckline, but also an up-to-there slit!

Alicia Vikander kept it simple with a long-sleeved dress by Louis Vuitton, but brought the glamour with allover sequins and a plunging neckline (and, of course, her new Oscar statue!).

Jennifer Lawrence swapped out her full-skirted Dior gown for a sexy two-piece Alexander Wang in jet black.

Gabrielle Union looked killer in a high-neck black dress with not one—but two!—thigh-high slits from Georgine.

Straying from the trend, Hailey Baldwin opts for a bright red cutout gown from Gabriela Cadena with a up-to-there slit.

Hilary Swank keeps her silhouette simple, but sparkles in a Michael Kors bodysuit and sleek maxi skirt.

Mindy Kaling chose a dress by Salvadore Perez, with just the right amount of embellishment on top.

Lady Gaga rocked her third white pants look of the evening from designer Brandon Maxwell (having already walked the carpet in a strapless jumpsuit and changed into a long-sleeved version for her awards show performance!).

Selena Gomez may have opted for a more covered-up silhouette than most, but she absolutely glimmered in Louis Vuitton on the after-party red carpet.
